I have had minor issues with Ruger, Mossberg and Keltec over the years they are were great to work with. For those of you that have the sticky stock issue with Browning or Winchester Duratouch rifle and shotgun stocks, I have a fix! I had a very sticky fore stock on my Duratouch Camo Winchester SX2 shotgun. Sprayed it with Rust-Oleum matte clear clear coat spray. Looks and feels great and smooth. After a certain amount of time, or after being exposed to certain chemicals, the DuraTouch breaks down, becomes tacky, and can even rub off completely. I started to explore finding a new stock, but came across a group in the States that had taken Browning to task on it. BX-25D ,PTB. Scopes Called Browning and after a 5 minute discussion was pleased, yes they will repair. These factory I have a fix! Also, I searched for "Hydroprint" on the net and the first site I visited had a picture of a camo job on a firearm among other items. The Dura-Touch just became very sticky and tacky all of a sudden.

After 2 yrs of frustration of trying to remedy the 'sticky stock' (Browning Gold Camo 20 ga), I used Goo-Gone to strip the gummy finish and applied a spray spar varnish. I did some further reading and it looks like Browning may be trying to weasel out of fixing the problem. Once it was completely removed I washed it with dish soap and proceeded to spray Rustoleum Clear Coat on it. Black synthetic replacement stocks and forearms were still available for the SX3, so the service center simply installed new ones and returned the gun fairly fast. Looks like they are saying 6 months maximummaybe that allows enough time for next deer season ??? A bit of research told me I could remove the sticky dura touch coating. November 2011 I haven't called Browning yet when I get outta the woods I plan to just to see what they say. I wanted black but they were out - I took the camo stock because they had it and were offering it right then .. They have had my 10ga since April 1st. Wow never thought it would take over 9 months. I purchased a black maxus stalker with a durotouch stock about 10 years ago and through the years, it just became stickier and stickier to a point where it is uncomfortable to hold the shotgun without gloves. May 2014 I have a Browning A Bolt with sticky stock. Obviously the process works for many but Browning refuses to accept responsibility for their goof up. This fall, it got so bad that I couldnt take it anymore, so I finally installed the new stock and forearm. I scrubbed it with warm water and wiped it down over and over again but it was still sticky. They said send it in and they would replace the stock. I figured an improper mix/cure process on the material. $19.99. As it aged, the Dura-Touch finish on many firearms began to deteriorate, becoming extremely sticky, and in some instances so sticky that it made using the gun almost impossible. I can tell you how i fix mine first remove the stock wipe it down with lacquer thinner several times keep the rag clean and spray it with rustoleum textured black you will like it. I sanded out the barrel channel til I could slide a dollar bill all the way to the barrel nut.
